Did you know that there are over 76 million English Language Learners in the United States? And there are over 70 million mature adults with wisdom and experience? Table Wisdom, a St. Louis-based social enterprise, works to bring these groups of people together for life-changing conversations.

 

Since our start in December 2014, we’ve matched students from institutions such as University of Southern California and Washington University in St. Louis as well as young professionals from China, Korea, Latin America and the Middle East with American professional mentors from independent-living facilities or their own homes.

 

Our evidenced-based model for learning has been proven effective in a study completed by St. Louis University as well as through testimonials provided by students and mentors. 

 

By connecting foreign born students with mature adults, we’re able to improve career and academic prospects, English proficiency and increase social connectivity. And we believe our efforts not only provide meaningful interactions for those involved, but are also beneficial to the community at large.
